Earrings - "A Fern at the Shore"

These earrings were inspired by the best of Mother Nature’s gifts.
COMPONENTS: In these earthy earrings, I paired hammered and altered raw brass ridged circles with raw brass hoops and small brass fern fronds. All of the brass components are also covered in the Grand Manan Patina - one I achieved by applying to them different natural ingredients, and then leaving them in the open, salty air of the Island, to “age”. The patina is raw - meaning that there will be slight alternations in it from time to time - as if the metal were alive. Incredibly lightweight, despite their size.
Suspended from stainless steel, handmade earwires. You have a choice here (see last photo):
Option A - Kite Stainless Steel with plastic backs

DIMENSIONS: Overall length (from top of earwire to lowest part of earrings) 2 1/2”, 6.3 cm - slightly shorter if selecting Option A for earwires.
Ferns are abundant on Grand Manan Island, including at Fernleigh Ridge where the Bay of Fundy provides a lovely backdrop for their charming, bright green fronds. These earrings were inspired by that landscape.
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
Do not submerge the earrings as that may alter the patina on the brass. If the earrings get wet, dab the moisture away gently with tissue.
