Necklace - "Moon at Water's Edge"

This necklace was inspired by the best of Mother Nature’s gifts.
COMPONENTS: A hammered and scratched metal “moon” suspends a raw brass demi-lune connector and a beguiling, lightly frosted blue/green glass spike. All of the brass components of the necklace are covered in the Grand Manan Patina - one I achieved by covering them with natural ingredients, and then leaving them in the open sky and salty air on Grand Manan Island - to “age”. The “chain” is made of various raw brass connectors. There is no closure - it slips over your head.
On an early July morning, I was sitting at the very edge of Long Pond on Grand Manan Island. It was a quiet morning with a gentle breath of breeze, the ocean surf ebbing on the other side of the dunes. Invigorated seagulls were splashing in the pond, fresh water droplets rolling off their smooth feathers, flashing against the sparkling surface. I looked up - the full moon was still hanging overhead, its face fading in the sunrise.
DIMENSIONS: Chain length: approx. 33”, 76cm Pendant length: 4”, 10 cm
ADDITIONAL NOTES: Do not submerge the necklace. Doing so will alter the patina and dangles. If the necklace gets wet, dab the moisture away gently with tissue.
