Necklace - "Hint of Moss"

This necklace was inspired by the best of Mother Nature’s gifts.
COMPONENTS: This statement piece was inspired by the seemingly-endless variety of moss on Grand Manan Island, beautiful and vibrant throughout the year ~ like a soft carpet in the woods and along paths and trails. It features a beguiling, genuine Swarovski crystal, highly faceted and with a frosted, irregular ridge running through it, suspended from a raw brass demi-lune, covered in greenish natural patina. The crystal is of the faintest peach hue. All of the brass components are covered in heavy Grand Manan patina, one I achieved by covering the pieces with natural ingredients and leaving them in the open, salty air of Grand Manan Island to “age”. The pendant hangs on a double-ball chain. The closure is a little lobster claw.
Moss is one our Planet’s oldest inhabitants. It brings to one’s imagination pictures of fairies frolicking in the moonlight, tiny dew droplets suspended among the tiny fronds, and mushrooms appearing ovenight nearby. It also symbolizes wisdom and patience - one cannot help but slow down one’s breath around moss, and pause even if for just a moment.
