Earrings - "Tidal Currents"

These earrings were inspired by the best of Mother Nature’s gifts.
COMPONENTS: Roughly scratched, hammered and holed raw brass, ridged ovals suspend charming little brass drops. The ovals are framed by hammered raw brass hoops. All of the brass components are also covered in the Grand Manan Patina - one I achieved by applying to them different natural ingredients and then leaving them in the open, salty air of the Island, to “age”. The patina is raw - meaning that there will be slight alternations in it from time to time - as if the metal were alive.
Suspended from stainless steel, handmade earwires. You have a choice here (see last photo):

At Fernleigh Ridge, the ebbing and flowing tide is easily observable - there is even sound as tidal currents flow - the ocean rushing in and out. The movement of the tide is actually faster than most casual observers expect. And of course, the landscape actually changes for a few hours at a time. For example, there are parts of beaches that can be accessed only at low tide.

ADDITIONAL NOTES: Do not submerge the earrings as that may alter the patina. If the earrings get wet, dab the moisture away gently with tissue.
