Earrings - "Deer Path"

These earrings were inspired by the best of Mother Nature’s gifts.
COMPONENTS: Hammered and scored raw brass fern leaves suspend irregular raw brass ovals, also altered by me for a more natural, earthy look. All of the brass components are also covered in the Grand Manan Patina - one I achieved by applying to them different natural ingredients, and then leaving them in the open, salty air of the Island, to “age”. The patina is raw - meaning that there will be slight alternations in it from time to time - as if the metal were alive.
Suspended from stainless steel, handmade earwires. You have a choice here (see last photo):

Deer are abundant on Grand Manan Island. Several make Fernleigh Ridge their home - during the summer of 2023, a Mama Doe delighted us by bringinng around her two fawn, with lovely coats, just like Bambi’s. At first light and at dawn, the trio roamed the meadows, and sauntered along the paths criss-crossing our field of ferns. The inspiration for these earrings….
DIMENSIONS: Overall length (from top of earwire to lowest part of earrings) 2.5”, 6.35 cm - slightly shorter if selecting Option A for earwires.
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
Do not submerge the earrings as that may alter the patina. If the earrings get wet, dab the moisture away gently with tissue.
