Earrings - "The Fern and Frost"

These earrings were inspired by the best of Mother Nature’s gifts.
COMPONENTS: Raw brass ferns suspend heavily hammered raw brass circles, and little brass drops, for a little movement. All of the brass components are also covered in the Grand Manan Patina - one I achieved by applying to them different natural ingredients, and then leaving them in the open, salty air of the Island, to “age”. The patina is raw - meaning that there will be slight alternations in it from time to time - as if the metal were alive.
Suspended from stainless steel, handmade earwires. You have a choice here (see last photo):
Option A - Kite Stainless Steel with plastic backs

When frost first comes to Grand Manan Island, yellowing leaves and grasses shimmer in the morning sun. Chocolate brown fern fronds seem to be covered in frosting, their edges etched with vanilla sugar. The silence on such poetic mornings is impossible to replicate.
DIMENSIONS: Overall length (from top of earwire to lowest part of earrings) 2 3/4”, 7 cm - slightly longer if selecting Option B for earwires.

Do not submerge the earrings as that may alter the patina. If the earrings get wet, dab the moisture away gently with tissue
