Earrings - "Returning Dream II"
“Mother Nature seldom gives us perfectly straight lines or flawlessly shiny surfaces. Mother Nature is best at being raw, visceral and atmospheric.”
These earrings were inspired by the best of Mother Nature’s gifts.
COMPONENTS: In these unique earrings, I paired raw brass elements with different treatments, to form two-part circles. I have also off-set them. The more shiny demi-lunes are heavily hammered. The opaque ones are not. All of the brass components are covered in the Grand Manan Patina - one I achieved by applying to them different natural ingredients, and then leaving them in the open, salty air of the Island, to “age”. The patina is raw - meaning that there will be slight alternations in it from time to time - as if the metal were alive. I added tiny brass circles for more movement.
Suspended from stainless steel, handmade earwires. You have a choice here (see last photo):
Option A - Kite Stainless Steel with plastic backs

Option B - Almond Stainless Steel with closure - please select at CHECKOUT
DIMENSIONS: Overall length (from top of earwire to lowest part of earrings) 2 1/4”, 5.6 cm - slightly shorter if selecting Option A for earwires.
A girl with flowing hair had a returning dream ~ of sand at her feet, the quiet churn of the tide and gulls soaring overhead. As she walked at water’s edge, she heard a soft hum - sand lifting off the grassy dunes.
