Earrings - "Old Lobster Boat"

These earrings were inspired by the best of Mother Nature’s gifts.
COMPONENTS: These dangle earrings are sure to make a statement. The raw brass components are hammered and holed for a more authentic look, and covered in heavy Grand Manan Patina - one I achieved by applying to them different natural ingredients, and then leaving them in the open, salty air of the Island, to “age”. These particular components were left out for about a year - giving them a truly weathered look. The patina is raw - meaning that there will be slight alternations in it from time to time - as if the metal were alive.
Suspended from stainless steel, handmade earwires. You have a choice here (see last photo):

The old lobster boat sits in the yard waiting for gentle hands to tinker with her prop. Her heart still beats with the hope of more sunrise ocean adventures. Her bones vividly remember starry nights on the Bay of Fundy and the stormy ones too, when she braced against the waves and brought the fishermen safely home. She creaks ever so slightly, stirred by those memories, sitting in her cradle and waiting.
DIMENSIONS: Overall length (from top of earwire to lowest part of earrings) 2 1/2”, 6.4 cm - slightly longer if selecting Option B for earwires.

Do not submerge the earrings as that may alter the patina. If the earrings get wet, dab the moisture away gently with tissue
