These earrings were inspired by the best of Mother Nature’s gifts.
COMPONENTS: All of the brass elements in these earthy, rustic earrings (all pieces other than the stainless steel earwires) are covered in the Grand Manan patina - the result of applying to them different natural ingredients and then leaving them in the open, salty air of the island to “age”. The patina is raw, meaning that it will continue to bloom as you wear the earrings - with very slight alterations here and there, as if the metal were alive. I altered, scratched and hammered the brass for more texture. Hanging on stainless steel, handmade earwires.
Grand Manan Island has many beaches and coves, among them picturesque Deep Cove, south of Seal Cove. Beautiful throughout the year, its landscape changes quite a bit as the tide ebbs and flows, revealing little worlds that later disappear under the waves. Textures and an amazing variety of hues abound.
DIMENSIONS: Overall length (from top of earwire to lowest part of earrings) approx. 2.26” 6 cm.
ADDITIONAL NOTES: Do not submerge the earrings. If the earrings get wet, dab the moisture away gently with tissue.
