Earrings - "At Seal Cove Sand Beach II"
“Mother Nature seldom gives us perfectly straight lines or flawlessly shiny surfaces. Mother Nature is best at being raw, visceral and atmospheric.”
These earrings were inspired by the best of Mother Nature’s gifts.
COMPONENTS: The starring role in these statement earrings goes to irregular brass shapes (1 3/8, 3.5cm long) to which I applied faint blue speckled Grand Manan patina - I coated them with natural ingredients and left them in the open, salty air at the Island. I suspended these “tide lagoon” from slender brass connectors. The patina is raw, meaning there will be very slight variations in it over time, as if the metal were “alive”.
These earrings will sway gently as you move, in a natural, sensual way.
Suspended from stainless steel, handmade earwires. You have a choice here (see last photo):
Option A - Kite Stainless Steel with plastic backs

Seal Cove Sand Beach on Grand Manan Island is one of the two beaches closest to Fernleigh Ridge (the other being Red Point Beach). As the moniker suggests, it’s covered with lovely sand that lends itself to castle-building, play and endless walks. At low tide, it is broad and wide, with many tide-pools and seaweed covered rocks, particularly closer to Red Point. At dawn in the summer, it’s magic is enhanced by poetic mist.
DIMENSIONS: Overall length (from top of earwire to lowest part of earrings) 2 7/8”, 7.3 cm (slightly shorter if you pick Option A for earwires).
ADDITIONAL NOTES: Do not submerge the earrings. Doing so will alter the patina. If the earrings get wet, dab the moisture away gently with tissue.
