Necklace - "Along Red Point Road"
“Mother Nature seldom gives us perfectly straight lines or flawlessly shiny surfaces. Mother Nature is best at being raw, visceral and atmospheric.”
This necklace was inspired by the best of Mother Nature’s gifts.
COMPONENTS: Two hammered, scratched, and otherwise hand-altered raw brass demi-lunes link together to form a full-faced Sun. Suspended from it is a rough chunk of agate, ever-so-slightly translucent and in lovely shades of green, grey and jade. At the end of the dangle is a little tassel - made with tiny brass beads. All of the brass components of the necklace are covered in heavy Grand Manan Patina - one I achieved by covering them with natural ingredients, and then leaving them in the open sky and salty air on Grand Manan Island - to “age”. The “chain” is made of various raw brass connectors. There is no closure - the necklace slips over your head.
Red Point Road on Grand Manan Island traces a line along Seal Cove harbour and ends with a rocky beach - an amazing place with amazing energy. As you head east, homes give way of woods and meadows, with two tiny ponds on the south side. Deer may very well cross you path if you are taking the drive at dusk or dawn. At the road’s high point, you will have an amazing view of the ocean ahead.
DIMENSIONS: Chain length: approx. 32”, 81.5 cm Pendant length: 4 1/2”, 11.5cm
ADDITIONAL NOTES: Do not submerge the necklace. Doing so will alter the patina and dangles. If the necklace gets wet, dab the moisture away gently with tissue.
FREE SHIPPING - This item will ship from either New Brunswick or Ontario.
