Earrings - "October Sunset"

These earrings were inspired by the best of Mother Nature’s gifts.
COMPONENTS: Hammered, textured and scratched raw brass half-moons join to form little feminine cascades - these, in turn, suspend pairs of incredible little faceted premium Czech glass beads - with subtle layers of colour - just like in the sky. All of the brass components are also covered in the Grand Manan Patina - one I achieved by applying to them different natural ingredients, and then leaving them in the open, salty air of the Island, to “age”. The patina is raw - meaning that there will be slight alternations in it from time to time - as if the metal were alive.
Suspended from stainless steel, handmade earwires. You have a choice here (see last photo):

Fall on Grand Manan Island often brings high, clear skies, and a clarity that makes colours pop. Sunsets are memorable as the sun travels over the horizon. When the rays wane, the sky lights up with an array of colours ~ and in the Fall these combine, as if in Mother Nature’s painting, with the Fall-hues of the coastline - rusts and ochres everywhere….an inspiration for these earrings….
