These earrings were inspired by the best of Mother Nature’s gifts.
COMPONENTS: I hammered slender raw brass hoops and inside them, I suspended raw brass circles and half-moon, hammered and scratched for more interest. Both are covered in the Grand Manan patina - the result of applying to them different natural ingredients and then leaving them in the open, salty air of the island to “age”. Finished off with tiny brass teardrop dangles. Hanging on stainless steel, handmade earwires.
Fishing remains a mainstay on Grand Manan Island. Visit us and you will see fishing boats everywhere and hardworking folks who continue to work through the seasons. These earrings are a tribute to all the daughters of the Island’s fishermen.
DIMENSIONS: Overall length (from top of earwire to lowest part of earrings) approx. 2”, 5.3 cm.
