Earrings - "At Long Pond Beach"

These earrings were inspired by the best of Mother Nature’s gifts.
COMPONENTS: Roughly scratched silver-tone metal rectangles suspend raw brass circles. This “scene” is “framed” by a brass oval, hammered and altered for a more authentic feel. All of the brass components are also covered in the Grand Manan Patina - one I achieved by applying to them different natural ingredients and then leaving them in the open, salty air of the Island, to “age”. The patina is raw - meaning that there will be slight alternations in it from time to time - as if the metal were alive.
Suspended from stainless steel, handmade earwires. You have a choice here (see last photo):

At the height of summer, Long Pond Beach on Grand Manan Island, is a hub of activity ~ the tides ebb and flow in their steady cycle, insects fly over the grassy dunes to their secret destinations, and birds traverse from the ocean to the pond, and back, enjoying their freshwater splashes. Humans too, both locals and those from other places, walk the beach and the dusty road between the beach and the pond, creating memories and taking in the salty air. A sight to behold!
DIMENSIONS: Overall length (from top of earwire to lowest part of earrings) 2 1/4”, 5.7 cm - slightly longer if selecting Option B for earwires.
ADDITIONAL NOTES: Do not submerge the earrings as that may alter the patina. If the earrings get wet, dab the moisture away gently with tissue.
