Necklace - "Island under the Blue Sky"

This necklace was inspired by the best of Mother Nature’s gifts.
COMPONENTS: A heavily hammered, painted and scratched brass moon suspends a little shield, also heavily altered, with 3 moving tentacles, made of raw brass. All of the brass components of the necklace are covered in heavy Grand Manan Patina - one I achieved by covering them with natural ingredients, and then leaving them in the open sky and salty air on Grand Manan Island - to “age”. The “chain” is made of various raw brass connectors. Small lobster-claw closure.
Grand Manan Island is a world of its own, under the blue sky. A micro-universe with a unique rhythm and heartbeat. The blue of the sky is the bluest blue - an expanse tall and far beyond the horizon, wider than the eye can contain.
DIMENSIONS: Chain length: approx. 30”, 76 cm Pendant length: 4 1/4”, 10.5 cm
ADDITIONAL NOTES: Do not submerge the necklace. Doing so will alter the patina and dangles. If the necklace gets wet, dab the moisture away gently with tissue.
