Necklace - "Forest Defender II"

This necklace was inspired by the best of Mother Nature’s gifts. She gives them to us expecting nothing in return, except our love.
COMPONENTS: The star of this necklace is a large raw brass shield - I hammered it, shaped it, marked it, scratched and holed it, for a more authentic look. All of the brass components of the necklace are covered in heavy Grand Manan Patina - one I achieved by covering them with natural ingredients, and then leaving them in the open sky and salty air on Grand Manan Island - to “age”. The shield has a khaki/brownish patina ~ it “rested” under some birches for close to 12 months before I did further work on it for this necklace. The chain is made up of various brass components. Small lobster-claw closure.
DIMENSIONS: Chain length: approx. 25”, 63.5 cm (and you have some options here - you can hook the little lobster claw into any of the links to shorten it or we can shorten the chain for you, based on your request).

Wherever she goes, she communes with the forest and breathes its fragrant air, as if part of one organism sharing a heart. To her, each tree has a soul and memories shaped by the seasons of its life. She is a forest defender.
ADDITIONAL NOTES: Do not submerge the necklace. Doing so will alter the patina. If the necklace gets wet, dab the moisture away gently with tissue.
