Earrings - "Route # 776"
“Mother Nature seldom gives us perfectly straight lines or flawlessly shiny surfaces. Mother Nature is best at being raw, visceral and atmospheric.”
These earrings were inspired by the best of Mother Nature’s gifts.
COMPONENTS: These duster earrings feature a variety of raw brass components - scratched, holed and roughly hammered, joined together like a winding route with different landscapes along the way. All of the brass components are also covered in the Grand Manan Patina - one I achieved by applying to them different natural ingredients and then leaving them in the open, salty air of the Island, to “age”. The patina is raw - meaning that there will be slight alternations in it from time to time - as if the metal were alive.
Suspended from stainless steel, handmade earwires. You have a choice here (see last photo):
Option A - Kite Stainless Steel with plastic backs
OR
Option B - Almond Stainless Steel with closure - please select at CHECKOUT
Route #776 is the main thoroughfare through Grand Manan Island, running north to south. Take it and you will see the Island’s varied landscapes, beaches and coves, villages now incorporated into the Village of Grand Manan (1995). This roughly 32km journey will give you a true taste of the island.
DIMENSIONS: Overall length (from top of earwire to lowest part of earrings) 2 3/4”, 7.3cm - slightly longer if selecting Option B for earwires.
ADDITIONAL NOTES: Do not submerge the earrings as that may alter the patina. If the earrings get wet, dab the moisture away gently with tissue.
FREE SHIPPING - This item will ship from either New Brunswick or Ontario.
