Earrings - "July by the Ocean"
“Mother Nature seldom gives us perfectly straight lines or flawlessly shiny surfaces. Mother Nature is best at being raw, visceral and atmospheric.”
These earrings were inspired by the best of Mother Nature’s gifts.
COMPONENTS: The starring role in these earrings goes to irregular brass shapes (1 1/2”, 4cm long) to which I applied blue speckled Grand Manan patina, and purple and golden metallic paint - first, I coated them with natural ingredients and left them in the open, salty air at the Island. The patina is raw, meaning there will be very slight variations in it over time, as if the metal were “alive”. I then applied paints to the raw brass components, once the patina formed. The effect is natural and earthy.
These earrings will sway gently as you move, in a natural, sensual way.
Suspended from stainless steel, handmade earwires. You have a choice here (see last photo):
Option A - Kite Stainless Steel with plastic backs
OR
Option B - Almond Stainless Steel with closure - please select at CHECKOUT
On Grand Manan Island, July by the ocean is one you will not soon forget. Birds soar overhead, the ocean’s waters sparkle in the bright sunshine, and beaches and coves call with their treasures. The island is teeming with life and so is the Bay of Fundy - and whales and dolphins frolic in the nutrient-rich currents.
DIMENSIONS: Overall length (from top of earwire to lowest part of earrings) 2 3/4”, 7 cm (slightly shorter if you pick Option A for earwires).
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
Do not submerge the earrings. Doing so will alter the patina. If the earrings get wet, dab the moisture away gently with tissue.
PLEASE NOTE that the photos are of a sample pair of earrings. Yours will be as close to the images as possible, bearing in mind that patina never duplicates in exactly the same way.
FREE SHIPPING - This item will ship from either New Brunswick or Ontario.
