Earrings - "Impermanent"

These earrings were inspired by the best of Mother Nature’s gifts.
COMPONENTS: A focal raw brass oval was holed and scratched for a more earthy, authentic feel. All of the components (other than the earwires) are covered in the Grand Manan Patina - one I achieved by covering them with different natural ingredients and then leaving them in the open, salty air of the Island, to “age”. The patina is raw - meaning that there will be slight alternations in it from time to time - as if the metal were alive.
Suspended from stainless steel, handmade earwires. You have a choice here (see last photo):

It is a very human tendency to look for permanence and assurance that things are “forever”, the good aspects of life at least.
