Necklace - "Three Moons"
“Mother Nature seldom gives us perfectly straight lines or flawlessly shiny surfaces. Mother Nature is best at being raw, visceral and atmospheric.”
This necklace was inspired by the best of Mother Nature’s gifts.
COMPONENTS: This “galactic” necklace is all brass - the brass components of the chain are raw while the “moons” are brass covered in silvertone metal. All of the brass components of the necklace are covered in heavy Grand Manan Patina - one I achieved by covering them with natural ingredients, and then leaving them in the open sky and salty air on Grand Manan Island - to “age”. The three moons are heavily hammered, altered, and then kissed with golden acrylic paint. The paperclip “chain” is made of patinated brass connectors. Small lobster-claw closure.
When the necklace is stretched-out, the moons line up one to the next. When you wear the necklace, they will fold slightly, like petals of a galactic flower. Please take a look at the photos.
In the Galaxy-of-Three, far, far away, triads are the order of the day, and the inhabitants of all of the triplet planets wear three buttons on their cloaks and three ribbons on their pointed hats. Sailing through the galaxy are three moons - they shimmer with gold and silver, and delight all the children. With their faces lit up by the triple moonlight, they dance the three-step and drink moon-drinks using three straws.
DIMENSIONS: Chain length: approx. 16”, 41 cm Circle diameter: 1 1/2”, 4 cm (we can shorten or lengthen the chain for you, on request).
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
Do not submerge the necklace. Doing so may alter the patina on the raw brass. If the necklace gets wet, dab the moisture away gently with tissue.
The photos are of a sample necklace. Yours will be as close to the photos as possible.
FREE SHIPPING - This item will ship from either New Brunswick or Ontario.
