Necklace - "Before the Storm"

This necklace was inspired by the best of Mother Nature’s gifts.
COMPONENTS: A hammered, scratched, painted and otherwise hand-altered brass (metal-tone) “moon” suspends a raw brass shield displaying the phases of the Moon. From these I suspended a genuine Swarovski crystal pillar bead - in an amazing hue of graphite grey. All of the brass components of the necklace are covered in heavy Grand Manan Patina - one I achieved by covering them with natural ingredients, and then leaving them in the open sky and salty air on Grand Manan Island - to “age”. The “chain” is made of various raw brass connectors. Small lobster-claw closure.
As the storm gathers over the ocean, the waves begin to swell, and the sky fills with endless shades of grey and deep blue. At some point, the dance of the waters and the heaves creates a seamless continuum - and it’s impossible to tell where the horizon separates the two. Those poetic moments before the storm.
DIMENSIONS: Chain length: approx. 26”, 66 cm Pendant length: 4 1/2, 11.5 cm
ADDITIONAL NOTES: Do not submerge the necklace. Doing so will alter the patina and dangles. If the necklace gets wet, dab the moisture away gently with tissue.
