Earrings - "The Bluest of Blue"
“Mother Nature seldom gives us perfectly straight lines or flawlessly shiny surfaces. Mother Nature is best at being raw, visceral and atmospheric.”
These earrings were inspired by the best of Mother Nature’s gifts.
COMPONENTS: All of the brass elements in these ultra-feminine, duster earrings (all pieces other than the stainless steel earwires) are covered in the Grand Manan patina - the result of applying to them different natural ingredients and then leaving them in the open, salty air of the island to “age”. The patina is raw, meaning that it will continue to bloom as you wear the earrings - with very slight alterations here and there, as if the metal were alive. The brass is dressed up with charming, faceted premium Czech glass beads, in a beguiling hue of blue, with a subtle Picasso finish. I finished off these little dangles with tiny iridescent white Miyuki beads.
Suspended from stainless steel, handmade earwires. You have a choice here (see last photo):
Option A - Kite Stainless Steel with plastic backs
OR
Option B - Almond Stainless Steel with closure - please select at CHECKOUT
Grand Manan Island is often called The Queen of the Fundy Isles. She is one of a series of islands in the Bay of Fundy. The island’s location has a very direct and significant influence on its fauna and flora, and its weather patterns. Watching the skies off Grand Manan Island is like watching a TV series. It’s as if a plot is unfolding, with romance, drama and humour all in one. When the skies are blue, they are the bluest of blue - an inspiration for these earrings.
DIMENSIONS: Overall length (from top of earwire to lowest part of earrings) approx. 2.36” 6 cm (slightly longer if you pick Option B for the earwires).
ADDITIONAL NOTES: Do not submerge the earrings. If the earrings get wet, dab the moisture away gently with tissue.
FREE SHIPPING - This item will ship from either New Brunswick or Ontario.
