Earrings - "Onyx Moon II"

These earrings were inspired by the best of Mother Nature’s gifts.
COMPONENTS: I hammered and scratched raw brass demi-lunes. From these, I suspended raw brass rhombus shapes, depicting the phases of the moon, with tiny brass teardrops at the ends. All of the brass components are covered in the Grand Manan Patina - one I achieved by covering them with different natural ingredients and then leaving them in the open, salty air of the Island, to “age”. The patina is raw - meaning that there will be slight alternations in it from time to time - as if the metal were alive.
Suspended from stainless steel, handmade earwires. You have a choice here (see last photo):
Option A - Kite Stainless Steel with plastic backs

Option B - Almond Stainless Steel with closure - please select at CHECKOUT
We repeat ourselves but the moon loves Grand Manan Island. On certain summer nights, the sky is as black as a smooth onyx, deep and infinite. The moon appears as if out of a most profound chasm, its edges faintly lit with a golden sheen. And the deer stare in awe.
DIMENSIONS: Overall length (from top of earwire to lowest part of earrings) 3 1/8”, 7.8cm - slightly shorter if selecting Option A for earwires.
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
Do not submerge the earrings as that may alter the patina. If the earrings get wet, dab the moisture away gently with tissue.
