Bracelet - "Summer Wave at Great Pond"
“Mother Nature seldom gives us perfectly straight lines or flawlessly shiny surfaces. Mother Nature is best at being raw, visceral and atmospheric.”
This bracelet was inspired by the best of Mother Nature’s gifts. She gives us her bounty with such generosity without expecting anything in return, except our love.
COMPONENTS: This soft bracelet was hand-sewn and stitched, completely free-form and using imagination rather than a pattern. The base is frayed velvet. The tiny beads forming an impression of a wave are Japanese Miyuki beads. Other elements of a wave were created using recycled sari silk, in a calming milky blue hue. Shibori-inspired stitching gives the bracelet more texture and dimension. There are two brass rings sewn in at either end - and you will be able to use a little lobster claw closure and a brass chain to close the bracelet around your wrist.
The bracelet is not perfect - nothing in nature is. The fraying threads at the edges add extra charm - if they bother you over time, just snip them gently if they stray. The back of the bracelet is also velvet. The look is meant to be organic and earthy.
DIMENSIONS: this bracelet is virtually one-size-fits-all because the closure has a little extender chain but you might consider this sizing information - width: 1 3/4”/4.7cm, length (fabric only): 7 1/8”, 18cm, at shortest length (using the lobster claw on one of the rings): 8 1/4”, 21cm
Great Pond on Grand Manan Island, just over the dunes from Anchorage Beach, is a calm haven that will let your soul rest if you visit. Migrating birds love this location in Spring and Fall, and it’s a favourite swimming spot for locals and visitors alike. A charming hiking trail, complete with a bird-watching blind, makes this the ideal spot to stop and collect one’s thoughts.
ADDITIONAL NOTES: Do not submerge the bracelet. Doing so will alter the fabric and the beads. If the bracelet gets wet, dab the moisture away gently with tissue.
FREE SHIPPING - This item will ship from either New Brunswick or Ontario.
