Earrings - "Whale Song"

These earrings were inspired by the best of Mother Nature’s gifts.
COMPONENTS: I hammered slender silvertone metal hoops and suspended inside them raw brass rings, also slightly hammered for extra texture. At the top and bottom of the hoops hang high quality Czech glass beads - in an amazing shade of aqua blue - faceted, with a milky transparency and finished off at the bottom with a lovely rust Picasso finish…. Hanging on stainless steel, handmade earwires.
Summer in the Bay of Fundy (and around Grand Manan Island) means whales. If you have never seen them up-close, do it at least once in your life. It can be a life-altering experience, as it was for us. Whales are such amazing creatures, with complex lives and methods of communicating. These earrings were inspired by their song just below the ocean’s surface, with the sun streaming in long beams….
