These earrings were inspired by the best of Mother Nature’s gifts.
COMPONENTS: These dramatic, long duster earrings are sure to make a statement. Designed for a strong woman with a lot of say. About balance, about keeping it in perspective, about the cycle of life. All of the brass elements (all pieces other than the stainless steel earwires) are covered in the Grand Manan patina - the result of applying to them different natural ingredients and then leaving them in the open, salty air of the island to “age”. The patina is raw, meaning that it will continue to bloom as you wear the earrings - with very slight alterations here and there, as if the metal were alive. Hanging on stainless steel, handmade earwires.
There many life cycles on Grand Manan Island. Some daily, like the ever ebbing and flowing tides, some evolving with the seasons, some involving the annual migrations of marine animals and birds. It’s a life-sustaining repetition, like a muted drum guiding us through the cycle of life.
