Earrings - "Sunset at Southwest Head"

These earrings were inspired by the best of Mother Nature’s gifts.
COMPONENTS: Raw brass half-moons and triangles were patiently, and over time, patinated with natural ingredients. The process was completed on Grand Manan, in open air. The bottoms of the triangles suspend ribbed and glazed Czech glass beads. I introduced horizontal lines on one side of each triangle - the brass is slightly exposed, mimicking the last of the sun’s rays on water. Hanging on stainless steel, handmade earwires.
Southwest Head on Grand Manan Island is a very special place and the basalt colonnades are something to behold. A great point to view a sunset.
The brass is not sealed, meaning that it is raw and will continue to bloom. There may be very slight, exciting variations to the presentation of the patina, as you own the earrings. In a sense, the metal is alive.
DIMENSIONS: Overall length (from top of earwire to lowest part of earrings) 2 3/4”, 7 cm.
ADDITIONAL NOTES: Do not submerge the earrings. Doing so will alter the patina. If the earrings get wet, dab the moisture away gently with tissue.
