Earrings - "Fall on Whistle Road"
“Mother Nature seldom gives us perfectly straight lines or flawlessly shiny surfaces. Mother Nature is best at being raw, visceral and atmospheric.”
These earrings were inspired by the best of Mother Nature’s gifts.
COMPONENTS: Raw brass ridged circles and half-moons were hammered and scratched and then, patiently and over time, patinated with different natural ingredients. The process was completed on Grand Manan Island, in the open, salty air, in the fog and bright sunshine. The bottoms of the half-moons suspend clear quartz crystal cube beads, for grounding and balance. Because monitors can show colour differently, I will tell you that the circles are in hues of bronze, aubergine, with flecks of aqua and ripe peach.
The brass is not sealed, meaning that it is raw and will continue to bloom. There may be very slight, exciting variations to the presentation of the patina, as you own the earrings. In a sense, the metal is alive.
Suspended from stainless steel, handmade earwires. You have a choice here (see last photo):
Option A - Kite Stainless Steel with plastic backs
OR
Option B - Almond Stainless Steel with closure - please select at CHECKOUT
Whistle Road on Grand Manan Island is a picturesque winding route that will take you from North Head to worth-seeing Long Eddy Point Lighthouse on the other side of the Island. During Fall, charming homes and garden on the east side will give way to more dispersed dwellings and beautiful forests with bright bursts of yellow and red among the conifers. The road not only winds but also dips here and there. These vistas inspired these earrings.
DIMENSIONS: Overall length (from top of earwire to lowest part of earrings) 2 6/16”, 6 cm (slightly longer if you pick Option B for earwires).
ADDITIONAL NOTES: Do not submerge the earrings. Doing so will alter the patina. If the earrings get wet, dab the moisture away gently with tissue.
FREE SHIPPING - This item will ship from either New Brunswick or Ontario.
