Earrings - "Dancing by the Light of the Moon"

These earrings were inspired by the best of Mother Nature’s gifts.
COMPONENTS: Irregular brass shapes were made all the more beautiful and earthy with the addition of the Grand Manan patina - I left them in the open sky and salty air on the Island after applying some natural ingredients. Then Mother Nature took her turn, a collaborator in this little project. From the shapes, I suspended little brass crescent moons and stars. To remind you that you should be celebrating the night and dancing. Hanging on stainless steel, handmade earwires.
Dancing in the moonlight is something every human being should experience, at least once in a lifetime. Grand Manan Island is the perfect place to do that - the moonlit Bay of Fundy is something to behold, at every season. And the stars….there are millions up there, visible in the night sky…..
DIMENSIONS: Overall length (from top of earwire to lowest part of earrings) 2 1/4”, 5.7 cm.
ADDITIONAL NOTES: Do not submerge the earrings. Doing so may alter the patina. If they get wet, dab the moisture away gently with tissue. Also, the patina is not sealed, meaning that it is “alive” and may change slightly as you own these little charmers. Just like Mother Nature - changing all the time…..
